As of 1:09 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, the change.org petition to “Stop the Slaughter of Mule Deer on Catalina Island” had gathered 11,463 signatures.
The Coalition to Stop The Slaughter of Catalina Deer has also launched a fundraising drive on gofundme.com to finance their efforts. “We have attracted an incredible team of volunteer professionals who have donated tens of thousands of dollars in services for FREE. But now we know we will need to raise money to continue to wage and win this fight,” according to the statement on gofundme.com.
