A technical glitch forced a halt to event

Technical difficulties forced the City Council to stop the meeting that was held (in part, anyway) on Tuesday, Aug. 17.

The city announced the problem on its official Facebook page. “As there were issues with public access of the meeting on Catalina Broadband Solutions channel 3 and streaming online at www.cityofavalon.com/meetings, and the agenda [publicly] notices the availability of the meeting on these platforms as well as on Facebook Live, the meeting had to be stopped,” according to the message posted on Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Anyone watching the meeting online could not miss that the sound cut out, but conversations continued in the council Chambers, at about 1 hour, 8 minutes into the meeting.

The meeting will be rescheduled at a special date to be determined.
