Conservancy debuts new shuttle

Heads are turning on Catalina Island, as the Catalina Island Conservancy’s new Wildlands Express shuttle arrived in Avalon this past weekend.

The Conservancy has added a new high-roof passenger van to its fleet of existing Wildlands Express shuttles.

The vehicle seats up to 11 passengers, and has over 80 cubic feet of cargo space.

The vehicle also features a low-emission 6-cylinder diesel engine and 4-wheel drive to provide safe and reliable transport in a variety of road and weather conditions.

What has really caught residents and visitors’ attention is the custom vehicle wrap which highlights the many sights and attractions seen and serviced by the Wildlands Express.

The Wildlands Express is the quickest, most comfortable, and affordable way for guests to travel between the Avalon Transportation Plaza, the Airport In The Sky, Little Harbor and other requested points of interest.

The Wildlands Express operates 365 days a year, road and weather permitting.  Reservations must be made in advance by calling 310-510-0143. Cost is $32 for an adult to take a round trip.
