Annual event raises money to help fight pancreatic cancer

On Saturday, September 16, the Catalina Island Swim Club will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Pancreatic Cancer Swim. The swim will be from Casino point to Frog Rock and back, 2.2 miles, round trip.

Following the swim will be a pot-luck breakfast and social. The swim will start at 7 a.m., early, before the wind comes up and while the ocean is still calm. Swimmers should gather at Casino Point no later than 6:45 a.m. for a group swim and sign up.

The suggested donation is $30 per swimmer. Swimmers are encouraged to get sponsors. Donations can be made via cash, checks, and online donations to Pancan.org. Donations to Pancan.org should be made “In honor of Catalina Swim” so that we can track our donations.

If you or your friends are not up for a 2.2 mile swim, “No problem!” Just jump in and get wet and join us for this fun and festive event.
