Catalina Island Conservancy says: don’t feed the foxes

Catalina Island foxes are wild animals. The Catalina Island Conservancy asks visitors and residents to enjoy experiencing these endemic species from afar and do not interfere with them. Feeding or handling Catalina Island foxes is against the law. Fed foxes are more likely to frequent roads. Please slow down when driving to ensure the safety of Catalina Island foxes. They are a federally protected species classified as threatened by the Fish and Wildlife Service. The Conservancy appreciates your love for these animals – the Conservancy loves them too. The best way to show our appreciation for Catalina Island foxes is to admire them from an appropriate distance.
