Catalina community welcomes fall with annual carnival

Community welcomes fall, start of holidays

The first official day of fall was in September, but with the weather starting to cool down, the feeling of fall doesn’t set in until closer to the end October. The city of Avalon and the community joined together on Friday to welcome in the fall season, with food, music, entertainment and friendship.

Families gathered at Wrigley Stage, which was decorated with scarecrows, hay bells, pumpkins, and string lights. Children of all ages ran from booth to booth, laughing and trying their luck at games like ring toss and the ever-popular Sponge face. The crisp autumn air was filled with the smell of popcorn, cotton candy, empanadas and BBQ.

Special thank you to Avalon Schools partnership, Dance Tech for the cutest performances featuring our littles, to our musicians from Catalina Duo & too the Wild Fire Arts Collective, which stole the show.
