Bravo’s Landscaping wins tourney championship

The final game of the 2024 Winter CoEd Softball Season was for the title of League Champion between Bravo’s Landscaping and Luau Larry’s. Bravo’s Landscaping was up first and with one out, Justin Hernandez hit a triple. Two base hits and doubles from Caitlin Lopez and Mario Jimenez followed for a total of four runs crossing the plate.

Luau Larry’s answered with a two RBI home run from Luiz Lazaro. In the second inning Bravo’s Landscaping’s Jack Villagomez hit a three RBI home run. Nick Morones opened the third inning for Bravo’s Landscaping with a solo home run. A base hit was followed by the two RBI home run from Tyler Engel. Three base hits and a walk added two more runs for a total of five coming home.

Luau Larry’s made it interesting in the bottom of the inning with six runs scored on a double from Gabriel Alvarado, a triple from Luis Lazaro, a walk and three errors. In the fourth inning Bravo’s Landscaping used two base hits, a walk and doubles from Tyler Engel and Melissa Schafer to score four.

Leo Aguilar opened the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo home run for Luau Larry’s. Two base hits added another run. In the fifth inning, James Hall made it to third base on three errors in the one at bat. Bravo’s Landscaping corrected the errors on a great throw from Jack Villagomez in left center to Tyler Engel at the plate to tag him out and deny Luau Larry’s a run.

The sixth inning saw Bravo’s Landscaping score six more runs on three base hits, an error, a double from Marco Gallegos and a home run from Nick Morones. Leo Aguilar hit his second home run for Luau Larry’s in the bottom of the inning. A base hit and an error scored a second run for Luau Larry’s.

In the seventh and final inning, Bravo’s Landscaping left a runner stranded at first. With their last at bat, Luau Larry’s James Hall hit a triple and scored on the following base hit. A base hit and a fielder’s choice scored a second run, but the third out was recorded, and the game ended with the score Luau Larry’s 14, Bravo’s Landscaping 22.

For Luau Larry’s, Gabriel Alvarado and Luis Lazaro collected three hits. Leo Aguilar and Ben Guzman contributed two hits. James Hall, Shawn Hall, Rafael Silva, Angelyna Rivera-Cantrell and Tiffany Credle had one hit.

For Bravo’s Landscaping Nick Morones and Tyler Engel were four for four. Marco Gallegos, Melissa Schaefer and Caitlin Lopez had three hits. Justin Hernandez, Mario Jimenez, Jack Villagomez and Maria Reyes collected two hits. Mario Jimenez, Gilbert Hernandez and Viktor Martinez contributed one hit.
