Bravo’s Landscaping clinches softball league championship

Game one between Bravo’s Landscaping and Hamilton Cove Real Estate was an opportunity for Bravo’s Landscaping to clinch the league championship with a win. Bravo’s Landscaping was up first, and Tyler Engel got them on the board with his two-run home run. Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered back with an opening double from Robert Reyes. A base hit and back to back doubles from Gabriel Alvarado and Leo Aguilar had three cross the plate.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate added another run in the second off the RBI double from Carlos Martinez. In the third inning Bravo’s Landscaping bats woke up. Six base hits, a walk, a fielder’s choice and a double from Ryan Adkins had seven come home. Bravo’s Landscaping added to their lead with four more runs from a walk, two base hits, a double from Tyler Engel and a three-RBI home run from Justin Hernandez in the fourth inning.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered with a three-RBI home run from Leo Aguilar in the bottom of the inning. In the fifth inning Alex Herrera hit a two RBI double for Bravo’s Landscaping. With time expired Hamilton Cove Real Estate got their last at bat, but left a runner stranded. Game ended with the score Hamilton Cove Real Estate 7, Bravo’s Landscaping 15. For Hamilton Cove Real Estate Nick Morones, Gabriel Alvarado, Leo Aguilar and Carlos Martinez were two for two. Robert Reyes and Omar Aguilar contributed one hit.

For Bravo’s Landscaping Tyler Engel and Judy Quarnstrom were three for three. Joe Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Ryan Adkins, Santiago Martinez, Alex Herrera and Stephanie Martinez all collected two hits. Juan Pablo Bravo had one hit.

Coyote Joe’s and Chet’s Hardware faced off in game two. Coyote Joe’s was up first and had five base hits and a double from Lexi Tran to bring home five runs. Chet’s Hardware answered back with two base hits and a double from Marco Gallegos to bring home two.

J.D. Laflin hit a double for Coyote Joe’s in the second, but was left at third. Chet’s Hardware took the lead in the bottom of the third when four runs scored off a solo home run from Marco Gallegos, followed by doubles from Selina Morones, Sebastian Sanchez and Alex Romero. An RBI base hit followed.

Coyote Joe’s regained the lead in the top of the fourth with six runs off doubles from Jorge Leon and Enrique Bravo, an inside-the-park home run from J.D. Laflin and three base hits. Coyote Joe’s scored two more in the fifth off two base hits and a double from J.D. Laflin. Chet’s Hardware got their last at bat in the sixth and scored two off the home run from Juan De La Cruz. The game ended with the score Chet’s Hardware 8, Coyote Joe’s 13.

For Chet’s Hardware Juan De La Cruz, Marco Gallegos, Sebastian Sanchez and Alex Romero had two hits. Rolando Gonzalez and Selina Morones contributed one hit.

For Coyote Joe’s Jorge Leon was three for three. J.D. Laflin also collected three hits. Ben Guzman, Ron Bevins, Hugh Bevins and Enrique Bravo contributed two hits. Rachel Mc Cormick, Lexi Tran and Marisol Perez had one hit.

Game three featured Lobster Trap and Straight Up Builders. Back to back doubles from Jose Octavo and Weston Leonhardi followed by a base hit scored two in the first for Lobster Trap. Alvin Veal, Straight Up Builders answered with a double from Chuy Sillas, who scored on the triple from Brandon Franco.

Two base hits added up to a run for Lobster Trap in the third. The Lobster Trap put up another run in the fourth. Straight Up Builders crept closer in the bottom of the inning when Brandon Franco hit a two-RBI home run. Lobster Trap’s Jose Octavo hit a double in the fifth and scored on the triple from Weston Leonhardi.

Straight Up Builders took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when six runs scored off two base hits, doubles from Maria Reyes and Alvin Veal, and two-RBI home runs from Stephen Marcy and Brandon Franco. Lobster Trap got their last at bat, but left runners stranded as the game ended with the score Lobster Trap 5, Straight Up Builders 9.

For Lobster Trap Jose Octavo, Weston Leonhardi and Paul Daniel Romo were three for three. Kyle Ostentoski was two for two.

For Straight Up Builders Brandon Franco was three for three. Chuy Sillas and Maria Reyes were two for two. Stephen Marcy also had two hits. Bart Glass, Dewitt Finley and Fabiola Sillas contributed one hit.
