Several Easter services will be held in Avalon this Easter weekend.
Now that Los Angeles County is in the Orange Tier, indoor church services are allowed up to 50% of capacity.
The following is a brief list, in chronological order by date and time.
• An Easter Vigil at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 7 p.m., Saturday, April 3. St. Catherine is located at 800 Beacon St. For information, email stcatherineofavalon@gmail.com or call (310) 510-0192.
• Community “Sonrise” Service at Casino Point, 6 a.m., Sunday, April 4, presented by Avalon Community Church. (Broadcast live on Facebook.) The praise lyrics are available online at avaloncommunitychurch.org. As this is an outdoor service, the “capacity” rules would not apply. However, Catalina churches are still asking the public to observe social distancing and wear masks.
• Sunday English Mass at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 9 and 11 a.m., April 4.
• Sunday Spanish Mass at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 6:30 p.m., April 4.
