The Lancers had an away non-conference game against Animo Leadership in South LA last Saturday where they walked away with another victory. The Lancers once again completely rolled over their opponent and had a record night for both offense and defense.

The very first play of the game was a score by senior captain Jose Silva with an 80 yard kick off return and the scores kept on going by the Lancers. The Lancers had 299 rushing yards in the game and that was led by freshman running back Jason Campos who had 120 of his own yards alongside Jose Silva who put up another 83 yards.  Junior Quarterback David Torres Zeller controlled the game with his talents and made a perfect pass down the field to senior receiver Clark Morris for a long touchdown completion.

The defense did not allow any scores and only two first downs the whole game. Animo Leadership could not run or pass and was constantly being harassed by Avalon’s defensive line. Senior Harrison Hobbs moved to linebacker this game and led the defense with six tackles, four sacks and a safety. The defense has allowed only 12 points the whole season with their offense scoring 270 points.

This Friday, Oct. 9, the Lancers take on the Sherman Oaks Knights who are coming off a commanding victory over the Bright Star Eagles. This is the Lancers Homecoming game at Joe Machado Field with kickoff at 5 p.m.
