
Avalon School will be hosting a Winter Concert, performed by the TK through 5th grade students, on Monday, Dec. 8 in the Casino.
The showcase will include musical performances by student musicians, including a special performance by the Jazz Angels, a Long Beach-based non-profit that formed in 2007 to help students learn singing and playing instruments. They also hope keep jazz music alive for future generations.
The Jazz Angels recently began a Catalina Mainland Connection program designed to join Catalina Island youths with their mainland peers in the program. The Jazz Angels work with Long Beach Unified School District to help fill gaps in the district programs that come up due to finding and other issues.
