
On June 24, Avalon Rotary Club installed its new Board of Directors, and Awarded Club and Community Members for their exemplary service. Two Board Members, Bryce Noll and Lourdes Thoricht completed terms effective June 30, 2026.
The newly installed Board includes Michael Ponce (Board President), Scott Turner, Tyler Wilson, Linda Salo, Julie Fisher, Nicole Hohenstein, Lola Di Miele and Jim Luttjohann.
Awardees were Scott Turner for Rotarian of the Year and Taylor Wilson Morones for Citizen of the Year. In addition, Interact Club President Sophia Degnan was honored for her year of service during which the Interact Club raised funds to support a food bank and homeless shelter program in addition to providing hundreds of hours of community service. Avalon’s Interact Club was also recently honored by the regional membership of Rotary District 5320 for their outstanding efforts in community service.
Club members gathered at the Catalina Canyon Inn in Avalon for the Board transition, installation and awards.
