Annual volleyball match has turned into bonding experience

I have been part of this amazing journey as a high school manager, a scorekeeper and as a coach. It has been so amazing to watch these friendships blossom over the years. Every year we get together after our match and have a bonding experience with Milken playing games like charades popping balloons and more, dancing, sharing stories and eating pizza.

Milken Community is a private day school in Los Angeles committed to incorporating Jewish values in a rigorous, college preparatory education for children. Milken and Avalon have formed a great relationship the last 15 years.

Lisa Steenport has been the coach the last 15 years, and she has been someone who is a great role model and a great culture builder at Milken. What this friendship has meant to our program at Avalon high School over the last few years is I hope you realize that as a young women, there is so much life ahead of you, and there is so much more to life than how well we hit a leather ball over the net, or how well we do at keeping it from hitting the floor and please don’t lose sight of the progress you make along this journey. This is about creating memories that will last a lifetime.
