Avalon Lions Club announces the Jordahl Vocational Scholarship

Tom Jordahl, a valued member of the Avalon Lions Club passed away on October 21, 2021.

Tom owned and operated Jordahl Construction, Pebbly Beach Equipment Rental, Catalina Disposal and the Buffalo Nickel Restaurant. As busy as Tom was, he always made time to serve his community in the Avalon Lions Club.

The Avalon Lions Club will initiate a new scholarship beginning in June of 2022 named, “The Tom Jordahl Vocational Scholarship.”

This scholarship will be available to a graduate from Avalon High School who will be pursuing a vocational program. High school grades, activities, natural abilities, motivation and future plans will be considered in the awards process. Some possible choices for a student would be: construction industry, cosmetology, medical assistant, hotel industry and transportation mechanics. The value of the scholarship will be a minimum of $1,000.
