The 2019 Avalon Lions Club Christmas raffle will have a record number of great prizes to hand out on Saturday, Dec. 21 at noon. All the 2019 raffle prizes were donated or purchased in Avalon to help support the local economy.

Mike and Cindy Cassidy of Chet’s Hardware in the Post Office Arcade, Tim and Lori Sanchez of the Tech Shack at 210-C Metropole and Leslie Grange of the Island Toy Store at 233 Sumner, donated raffle items and provided discounts on all the items that were bought from them for the 2019 Avalon Lions Christmas Raffle. Topping the donations again this year is Avalon Lion Conrado Vega of Catalina Island Golf Cart Rentals who is donating a six-passenger golf cart to the raffle. Thank you to these outstanding Avalon business people for their generosity supporting this annual community service event.

Raffle tickets will be on sale in the Post Office Arcade from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday Dec. 16 to Saturday Dec. 21. The 2019 prize drawing will be Saturday Dec. 21 at noon. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawing to win. Winners will be notified by phone.

Proceeds from the annual Christmas Raffle will go to provide Christmas Dinner Food Baskets to those Avalon families who need them. Should anyone know of a family who needs a food basket please call Burney Ramming at 310-422-1406 to arrange for that gift.
