The Avalon Lancers football team had a hard-fought game last Friday against the Sage Hill Lightning but the outcome was not in Avalon’s favor. Avalon was off to a rocket start at 4-0 before the Lancers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Lightning.
Both teams defenses had strong stops and turnovers and the game came down to the final seconds but Avalon could not pull off the last minute victory, losing to Sage Hill 18-14. Avalon was undefeated up until this point with strong wins each week.
Avalon takes to the road this week to play Academy of Careers and Explorations a 4-1 team. The last time the Lancers faced ACE was back in 2015 with an 82-0 victory.
“The Lancers are focused, motivated and are determined to get back to winning” said head coach Michael Forcella.
