Avalon Grille reopened its doors on Thursday, May 26. Visitors and residents were greeted by an updated atmosphere, featuring a refreshed menu, new handcrafted cocktails and casual chic staff attire.

Initially open for dinner, Avalon Grille’s updated menu features a carefully curated selection of small bites — the perfect starter for a fun friend or family gathering. Standout dishes include baked “polpettes” (meatballs), chicken lollipops and the Grille’s famous flash-fried brussels sprouts. Steak and seafood specialty plates are also on the menu for those seeking a heartier meal.

“There are a lot of diners eager to catch up, looking to experience the wide range of Avalon Grille’s signature flavors,” said Roberto Hernandez, executive chef for Catalina Island Company. “These light bites let you sample multiple dishes on the menu, so you can reconnect with loved ones and discover the meal you might have missed out on in the past.”

Diners can unwind over an exquisite assortment of drafts, world-class wines and cocktails, including the Cowboy on Catalina (Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Crème de Banana, Alessio Rosso, Ginger Beer, Angostura Bitters, Fig Bitters, Tobacco Bitters, Lime Juice and a Candied Ginger Garnish) or Wandering Bison (Pau Maui Vodka, Gran Classico, Passion Fruit Liqueur, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice, Pineapple and Fresh Mint).

Avalon Grille’s inviting atmosphere has also received a subtle makeover with new lighting to accentuate the interior features, including new artwork.

Staff uniforms now sport an updated look that includes dark jeans, solid aprons, and striped shirts.

In the spirit of reinventing Avalon Grille and celebrating its reopening, these changes mark a fresh start for both returning and new staff.

“We’re so thrilled to be open again. We’re anticipating a need to expand our pool of staff as we warmly welcome everyone back,” said Roberto Perico, senior vice president of hospitality for Catalina Island Company. “If you want to put on a pair of jeans, we’re recruiting additional bussers and food runners. We’d love to welcome you as the newest team member to Avalon Grille.”
