The Avalon Lancers opened the season with a strong 47-0 win over Malibu High School. The team is led by Jr QB Weston Jones who will be leading the offense this season. Other big players to watch out for are Juniors Jose Vasquez and Brandon Moreno who will be huge offensive and defensive weapons as they play both ways for the Lancers this season. We also have a two headed monster in the backfield with returning players/seniors Adan Ventura and Franscisco Arellano.
The Lancers are very young but have a ton of depth this season at almost every position. We are expecting big things from the incoming Freshman Nathan Jones and Owen Chavoya to make a big impact right away with the team. These athletes have been working hard all Summer with 6 a.m. practices, offseason lifting, and the high standard that the coaches have been promoting all year and it definitely shows with the result of their first game of the season.
