Catalina’s first Wish Tree project will also be launched Saturday. Stop by Wrigley Stage to write your wish on a tag that you can then hang from a branch of an Olive Tree. Wishes may be added for a month and then the wishes will archived at the Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland. “Following over a year of COVID-19 impacting the world, it seemed timely to offer an activity to residents and visitors that inspires hope,” says Avalon Rotary Chair and City Council Member Michael Ponce. Upon completion the tree will be planted in a downtown planter to offer shade for many years to come.

In the spirit of Earth Day, residents and Visitors are also encouraged to visit Careforcatalina.com and Avalon Beautiful’s Facebook page for information on ways to support sustainable tourism on Catalina Island and for information on beautification and community enhancement projects.
