Catalina Art Association to open retail shop April 30

This year’s Art and Crafts Festival turned out to be a beautiful weekend, according to the Catalina Art Association. Organizers had more than 35 booths of talented artists.

The event also featured a few local organizations participating to help make the festival a success. Kids At Play had a craft and game booth to give the kids more fun activities.

The humane society had lots of fun raffles to raise money for all the kitties in our shelter needing care. Catalina Woman’s Forum was there promoting their upcoming Wine Festival, which will be held during the September 16-17 Festival of Art.

Rotary was there raising money for Ukraine. The Friends of the Library had their book mobile give away books and crafts. Most artists at this show were locals, and included a few artists from the West End of the Island. The gallery located in the U.S. Bank is where the Catalina Art Association showcases their artists.

Starting April 30, the CAA will open Catalina Craft Corner in the tour plaza in the old Hen House store. This will be the CAA’s retail store for all member artists to show and sell their work. The association will start up Paint Nights again in May.
