I ran across these photos when going through some 35mm slides from the past.
The photo of Avalon Harbor was taken in 1969 from my dad’s boat. I had just returned from a combat tour in Vietnam when we traveled to Avalon aboard the “Pisces.” I met several Marines at “Sloop John B” tavern and told them what to expect. I hoped they’d come home safely.
My family has a long and storied history involving Avalon. I miss it terribly.
