A Little Catalina in Nashville

Catalina-connected artist Kymberlee Stanley was chosen to be part of an exhibition at the Nashville International Airport. Part of the airports Flying Solo art showcase, former Catalina resident and Southern California native, Stanley’s contribution is entitled Windows of Wonder and includes her piece that shows a little girl playing in the sand on Steps Beach. The works were done on 100 year old panes of glass that were salvaged from her Tennessee home. Stanley relocated to Nashville in 2012 and had become a strong advocate for art in the Tennessee region. She founded the Nashville Painters’ Salon, modeled after the gatherings of French Impressionists. She also maintains a connection to the Southern California Plein Air associations and other local organizations. She recently helped organize Paint Out events on Catalina for So. Cal Plein Air Painters to explore and capture the beauty of Catalina Island. If you happened to be in, or know someone passing through Nashville International Airport, Stanley’s exhibit is in Concourse D, through March. For more information, visit kymberleestanley.com.
