Catalina Island Yacht Club Foundation President Jim McCampbell recently presented a donation check to President Judy Grear of the Friends of the Avalon Library.
The money will pay for books and facility upgrades. Present for the exchange were Staff Commodore Jim Wachtler and club Port Captain Mary Haller.
The Yacht Club helps fund organizations approved by the City of Avalon through donations and fundraising efforts of the foundation membership. Any local organization with a federal tax status of 501-c-(3} and approved by the city may apply for funding by writing to CIYC Foundation, Box 115, Avalon, CA 90704.
