Every August the Avalon Tuna Club Foundation hosts it’s Avalon Benefit Fishing Tournament and Auction. Over the years the Foundation has donated a total over a million dollars to various Avalon charity organizations.
“We would like to thank the many Avalon businesses who donated items to our Benefit Auction,” Avalon Tuna Club Foundation President Doug Miller said.
Miller recently passed out much needed funds to nine Avalon organizations, so they can continue to provide services to the community.
Donation checks were issued to representatives of Catalina Kid Ventures, P.L.A.Y. school, Avalon Rotary Club, Avalon Lions Club, Catalina Island Women’s Forum, Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation, Catalina Museum, Avalon Kids Baseball and Catalina Jr. Golf.
