Chet’s and Hamilton Cove RE turn in a last inning thriller

The first game between Chet’s Hardware and Hamilton Cove Real Estate turned into a last inning thriller. But we’ll start at the beginning.
Chet’s Hardware was up first, and promptly used a walk, two base hits, and an inside the park home run from Sebastian Sanchez to score four. Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered back with a two RBI inside the park home run from Nick Morones, followed by a double from Gabriel Alvarado, and a two-run home run from Leo Aguilar to tie it up.
In the second inning Chet’s Hardware had eight base hits and used an error to bring home seven more. Chet’s Hardware had four base hits and a triple from Marco Gallegos to score three more in the third. Hamilton Cove Real Estate added one more in the bottom of the inning off Robert Reyes’ RBI double.
Marco Gallegos opened with a double for Chet’s Hardware in the fifth but was later thrown out at third for the last out. Hamilton Cove Real Estate came up to bat in the bottom of the fifth and turned it into a thriller. With two outs, an error kept the inning alive. Marisa Morones started the rally with a double to bring in a run. Robert Reyes brought her home on his triple, and Nick Morones followed with a two-run home run. With time expired, four base hits brought a run home, and loaded the bases for Luis Lazzaro who hit a grand slam homerun to tie the game. The third out was then made, and the game ended in a tie, 14-14.
For Chet’s Hardware Marco Gallegos was four for four. Selina Morones was three for three. Sebastian Sanchez also collected three hits. Juan De La Cruz, Felipe Casillas and Betty Tejeda contributed two hits. Alex Romero, Rolando Gonzalez, Briana Morones and Traci Degnan had one hit.
For Hamilton Cove Real Estate Robert Reyes, Leo Aguilar and Aimee Casillas were three for three. Nick Morones and Gabriel Alvarado had two hits. Luis Lazzaro, Marisa Morones and Matilde Martinez all contributed one hit.
Game two between Bravo’s Landscaping and Straight Up Builders was close until the last inning. Bravo’s Landscaping Joe Hernandez and Justin Hernandez opened with back to back doubles. An error turned into another two runs from the double from Tyler Engel. A double play was followed by a walk, then Juan Pablo Bravo collected two RBIs from his double. A total of five came home.
Straight Up Builders turned a walk into a run in the bottom of the inning. Straight Up Builders added another run in the second. Back to back doubles from Tyler Engel and Stephanie Martinez brought home two more runs for Bravo’s Landscaping in the third. Straight Up Builders Brandon Franco collected an RBI off his triple, and he later scored in the bottom of the fourth. In the fifth, Joe Hernandez hit a double and scored on the sacrifice fly for Bravo’s Landscaping.
Straight Up Builders had three base hits and a double from Stephen Marcy to have two cross the plate in the bottom of the inning. Top of six, and Bravo’s Landscaping rallied to put the game out of reach. Seven base hits, two errors, doubles from Joe Hernandez, Tyler Engel and Stephanie Martinez brought home eleven.
With time expired, Straight Up Builders got their last at bat. Brandon Franco hit another RBI triple. Two base hits and an error brought home two more until the third out was made. Final score Straight Up Builders 9, Bravo’s Landscaping 19.
For Straight Up Builders Ryan Hinkley and Brandon Franco were three for three. Bart Glass and Jim Hinkley contributed two hits. Stephan Marcy, Chuy Sillas, Uriel Castillo and Frannie Finley collected one hit.
For Bravo’s Landscaping Tyler Engel was four for four. Joe Hernandez, Justin Hernandez and Stephanie Martinez collected three hits. Billy Boyd, Alex Herrera and Leah Quarnstrom contributed two hits. Santiago Martinez and Juan Pablo Bravo had one hit.
Game three was between Coyote Joe’s and Lobster Trap. Coyote Joe’s Francisco Bravo opened the game with a double. A base hit, a walk and a ground out had a total of three come home. Lobster Trap answered back with seven base hits, two walks, a double from Jose Octavo and a triple from Beto Martin to score ten. Two base hits, an error, a sacrifice flyball and a double from Joey Talsky brought an additional three home for Lobster Trap in the second inning.
Coyote Joe’s turned an error into a run in the third. Lobster Trap answered with a triple from Jose Octavo, who later scored. Lobster Trap widened the gap in the fourth with three more runs off four base hits. Coyote Joe’s left a runner stranded in the top of the fifth. With time expired, the game was called with the score Coyote Joe’s 4, Lobster Trap 17.
For Coyote Joe’s Francisco Bravo and Nestor Cubillas were two for two. Hugh Bevins and Jorge Leon had one hit.
For Lobster Trap, Weston Leonhardi, Beto Martin, Paul Daniel Romo and Joe Talsky were three for three. Jose Octavo was two for two with a walk. Mario Jimenez, Efrain Moreno, Margery Williams and Christy Alegria Flynn collected one hit.
