25th annual Shop Catalina Night is Dec. 1

The 25th Annual Shop Catalina Night is Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. It’s a merry way to get into the holiday spirit, enter to win prizes, enjoy yuletide entertainment including strolling carolers, and have a fun money-saving evening of holiday shopping while supporting the community.

Shop Catalina kicks off with a tree lighting ceremony on Wrigley Stage on Avalon’s waterfront. Shoppers are invited to gather as Santa and his “helpers” arrive by Fire Truck.

The community tree lighting will start at 5 p.m. Be sure to pick up a Treasure Card and hit the stores.

Adding to the festivities, many participating stores will be offering holiday treats.

Shoppers are also invited to get their children’s photo taken with Santa. Bring two cans of food and your camera to Antonio’s Pizzeria & Cabaret (230 Crescent Ave.)

Avalon retailers are planning some terrific discounts and all shoppers will be able to enter to win prizes.

On Shop Catalina Night, each store will have a drawing to give away an in-store gift or gift certificate.

Get your Treasure Card stamped at each of the participating merchants and enter to win reservations for two to the 2018 New Year’s Eve Gala.

Shoppers will also receive one Shop Catalina Discount Card valid through Christmas Eve at any of the 18 participating retailers.

The discount card can be picked up during Shop Catalina night at any participating stores and will be good for 10-30 percent off all purchases made at any participating merchant between Dec. 1 and Dec. 24.

Some merchants are offering a larger discount on Shop Catalina Night only.

No purchase is necessary to receive the Shop Catalina Discount Card or to enter the in-store drawing, but you must be 16 years or older.

Be sure to join the community for this event on Saturday night, Dec. 1 and take advantage of many offers and prizes from these stores.
