Catalina Island to host its annual LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration

While Pride season is in full force around the country in June, Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority welcomes and encourages all residents, visitors, and businesses to celebrate in support of the LGBTQ+ community locally and across Southern California.
The much-anticipated Catalina Pride festivities will take place on Saturday, June 24. (In related news, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services is marking Pride month.)
The opening ceremonies and Pride walk will kick off at noon, followed by the main event at Wrigley Stage in the center of Avalon.
The celebration will feature live entertainment and a pride walk supporting the LGBTQ+ community, followed by parties and events around sunset. Southern California all-girls cover band Pulp Vixen will take the Wrigley stage again to headline Catalina’s pride celebration at 7:45 p.m.
DJ Asha returns for her second year as Catalina Pride emcee. DJ Asha hails from London but is a permanent fixture in the Los Angeles and Orange County scene. Other live performances include KingQueen, Devan M. with Liza Light, and the return of Long Beach Cheerleaders.
Volunteers of Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County chapters of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will also support the evening. For more information and a schedule of events, visit lovecatalina.com.
In addition, from June 21-25 the historic Catalina Casino will be lit in vibrant rainbow colors to showcase Catalina’s love and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
