Sheriff’s log: Nov. 18 to Nov. 24, 2015

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Nov. 18 to Nov. 24.

“It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the Station.  

“Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested,” he said.

November 18

November 18

• No significant incidents.

November 19

• No significant incidents.

November 20

• At 9:40 p.m., Tanya Umphrey, 37, a resident of Lawndale, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

• At 10:30 p.m., Avalon Station detectives located John Talsky, 34, an Avalon resident, in the city of Cypress. He was arrested on suspicion of sales of a controlled substance.

November 21

• A visitor to the island reported her wallet was stolen while she was para-sailing.

November 22

• No significant incidents.

November 23

• An Avalon resident reported a money order and U.S. currency were stolen from a business on Bird Park Road.

November 24

• No significant incidents.
