IEX Helicopters (“Island Express Helicopters”) has teamed up with acclaimed marine scientist, Diane Alps to launch the first and only Heli-Marine Expedition on the west coast.
IEX Helicopters, best known for their twin-engine Sikorsky S-76 helicopters for executive charters, as well as their exclusive Catalina Island flight excursions, is offering a new, educational tour for guests to experience some of the world’s most impressive marine life.
Unlike traditional whale watching tours, this tour involves a 30 minute helicopter flight over the Pacific Ocean in search of marine mammals with marine expert Diane Alps onboard to explain all there is to know about this incredible marine habitat. The tour departs from Long Beach, Orange County, San Pedro and Catalina Island. “After working as a (Professional Assocation of Diving Instructors) Open Water Scuba Instructor in the Caribbean for many years before moving to California, I have always been interested in marine conservation” said Ben Villalobos, vice president of Business Development.
