Avalon librarian Morgan Pershing will be a keynote speaker at the Adult Services Symposium in Sacramento on May 17.
Pershing is chair of an Adult Services Interest Group that focuses on partnerships with libraries and community groups to provide more services for adults in the area.
She currently is working on more children’s programs, but her specialty is in adult partnerships.
The keynote address on May 17 is about partnerships in programming.
Pershing has started an Avalon book group and instituted an adult story time at the Catalina Island Medical Center.
Additionally, Pershing intends to have adult summer reading programs.
Related to this, Pershing reminded the Council and audience that computer education is available at the library.
