Isabella Luv was gifted a ride on the Zipline. She turned 83 on Oct. 16. She first came to the Island in the early 1960s. Her husband, Bruce Buell took a job here with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
They brought their sons Sterling and Cody with them and they all fell madly in love with the Island. However, they did have to return to the mainland sometime later. Isabella has returned a few times since, but said, “This time I am here to stay.”

A longtime self-proclaimed “health nut,” Luv has been into healthy eating and living since the early ’50s. Her friends all laughed at her. “Most of those people are either dead or spending a lot of time in the doctor’s office,” she said. The healthy life style seems to agree with Luv – she looks better than a lot of 60-year-olds today. On her 84th birthday she plans on parasailing.
