The following is the Avalon’s Sheriff’s Stations significant incidents report for the period of Nov. 23 to Nov. 29, 2023.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted,
November 23
- Deputies responded to a disturbance on Crescent Avenue. The caller stated a male adult was possibly drunk at the location. The deputies contacted the man and determined he had enjoyed more booze than turkey at his Thanksgiving dinner. The man’s family arrived and said they would accompany him home and watch after him.
November 24
- Deputies responded to a loud music disturbance call on Catalina Avenue. The caller stated the music from a party was drowning out business at the dome theatre. The deputies contacted the party people and advised them to shut down the music. They gladly complied and relocate their event.
November 25
- Deputies responded to Hermit Gulch for a suspicious person call. The informant stated a local man was wandering the campground and refusing to leave.
The deputies contacted the man and served him with a Letter of Agency. The man was advised he could be arrested for trespassing if he returned to the location.
November 28
- Deputies were contacted at the station by a man who stated his friend was missing. The man stated his friend has a medical condition and cannot be alone. Within minutes, the deputies located the man at the arcade. The man was watching people playing the bowling game and was very safe.
