Safety Note
The Avalon Sheriff’s Station personnel are working with first responders and other important entities on the island regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Avalon Sheriff’s Station lobby will remain open to the public
Editor’s note: Capt. John Hocking told the Islander: “Deputies are doing the best they can to protect themselves. We have rubber gloves, facemasks, and goggles available for all Avalon deputies. We try our best to screen the person we are contacting when they call us for services. We have four specific questions we ask, to try and protect all of the first responders on the island. The bottom line is, the deputies will respond to all calls for service and that definitely puts them at risk, but we will be there for the Avalon community.
