The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of March 1 to March 8.

When calling the Sheriff’s Station to report a problem

When calling the Sheriff’s Station to report a problem
For emergencies always call 9-1-1. For non-emergent calls for service, please call our business line at 310-510-0174.
Medical Calls—Please provide some basic information, i.e., the gender and age of the patient, if they are conscious, breathing, and how they were injured.
Non-Emergent Police Calls—Please provide some basic information about what has occurred and a basic description of the people involved. If there are any weapons involved, please advise the dispatcher. This information is very important to deputies. Note—a weapon can be a beer bottle, a pool cue, or a personal item such as a shoe. The more information you can provide, the better we will be able to safely assist you.
Secondly, please don’t hesitate to call us at the first sign of a problem. We would rather be proactive and handle a problem before it escalates into a dangerous or criminal matter. Too many people say they didn’t want to bother us. You aren’t! We appreciate the opportunity to intervene early and prevent a problem from escalating into an emergent situation.

• At 3:30 p.m., Kellen Wolfe, 35, a resident of El Cajon, was arrested on suspicion of driving (a golf cart) under the influence of alcohol.
March 4
• No significant incidents.
March 5
• At 2:40 a.m., Juan Trejo, 31, an Avalon resident, was arrested on suspicion of driving (a golf cart) under the influence of alcohol and for leaving the scene of an accident.
March 6
• We distributed crime prevention information to many of the local bars and restaurants along Crescent Avenue.
March 7
• No significant incidents.
March 8
• An Avalon resident reported her vehicle was vandalized while it was parked in the 300 block of E. Whitley Avenue.
