Sheriff’s Log for June 4 to June 10

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of June 4 to June 10.

“It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report.  Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the Station.

June 4

June 4

A small quantity of Marijuana was found near the Cabrillo Mole and booked into evidence.

June 5

Deputies participated in a bicycle safety program for the elementary students at Avalon School.  

This was a collaborative effort with CHOICES, the City of Avalon, and the Avalon City Fire Department.  

The Sheriff’s YAL and the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation each donated a new bicycle for two deserving children.

June 6

A 31 year old Avalon resident was arrested for spousal abuse.        

• Daniel Smith, M/26, a resident of Simi Valley, was arrested for drunk in public.

June 7

Allan Casillas, M/20, an Avalon resident, was arrested for drunk driving.

• Ruben Hernandez, M/41, an Avalon resident, was arrested for drunk driving.

• Glen Hernandez, M/21, an Avalon resident was arrested for drunk in public.

June 8

Billy Sutt, M/33, a resident of Lakewood, was arrested for burglary.

• A battery occurred in the 100 block of Sumner Avenue.  The investigation is on-going.

June 9

Two juveniles vandalized personal property on Tremont Avenue.  The investigation is on-going.

June 10

Kirk Williams, M/53, an Avalon resident was arrested for drunk in public.

Golf carts

One golf cart was reported stolen from the 100 block of Metropole Avenue.   

It was recovered within an hour, in the 200 block of Marilla Avenue.
