Good Citizen Award

An Avalon resident came to the station looking for help because her golf cart was disabled in front of Vons.

A deputy went to help, but the problem was complicated.

In a search for a mechanic, he called Nate Macktal, at home, and explained the situation to him.  Nate offered to help and came to the resident’s aid (a lady whom he did not know).

He fixed her golf cart and walked home, covered in grease, without expecting anything in return.

Many people have commented on how much Avalon has changed over the years, but as long as there are people like Nate Macktal who live here, Avalon will always be a place to be proud of.

We would like to recognize Nate as this week’s good citizen.

Golf carts

A golf cart was taken from the 300 block of Marilla Avenue.

It was found by deputies a short time later, after it had been moved to the 200 block of Marilla Avenue.

A golf cart taken from Sol Vista.  It was found 15 minutes later by deputies a short distance from the location.
