Traffic Safety Reminder

Under California law, it is illegal to knowingly allow an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle.

This law includes parents allowing their children to drive a golf cart on a public roadway in Avalon. Not only is it illegal, but it is very unsafe here in Avalon because our streets are traversed by many other motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians of all ages. I am asking all parents to use sound judgment and not risk the safety of your children or the safety of others in the community by allowing your children to drive a golf cart.
