The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Aug. 13 to Aug. 19.

August 13
• No significant incidents.

August 13
• No significant incidents.
August 14
• At 6:55 PM, Cameron Oxenham, M/23, a resident of Rolling Hills Estates, was arrested for drunk in public.
• An Avalon resident reported their bicycle was stolen from the 300 block of Clarissa Avenue.
August 15
• At 10:00 PM, Jason Nelch, M/31, a resident of Dana Point, was arrested for possession of cocaine.
• At 10:55 PM, Scott Mellinger, M/55, a resident of Lake Forest, was arrested for battery.
August 16
• An Avalon resident reported two concrete lions were stolen from in front of her business on Catalina Avenue.
August 17
• At 1:50 AM, Shane Olswang, M/26, a resident of Lawndale, was arrested for drunk in public.
• At 5:00 PM, Christopher Eymann, M/43, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested for drunk in public.
August 18
• An Avalon resident was detained at the Cabrillo Mole as he was determined to be a danger to himself. He was transported to the hospital for observation.
August 19
• An Avalon resident reported personal property was stolen from a room at the County Club.
• An Avalon resident found a bag of Marijuana in the 300 block of Sumner Avenue and turned it into the Sheriff’s Station.
Traffic safety
There were three traffic accidents involving golf carts this week.
Reminder to all adults
It is illegal to allow an unlicensed minor to operate a golf cart, not to mention it is extremely dangerous to the minor, other people in the golf cart and the general public. All golf cart owners are encouraged to follow the rules of the road (the same rules that apply on the mainland).
Golf carts
One golf cart was reported stolen from Sumner Avenue. It was recovered by deputies approximately fifteen minutes later. It had been taken without the owner’s permission and found within thirty yards of the owner’s home.
