Actress Anna Gold grew up in Springfield, Illinois with her parents Wes and Jacqui Wells and her brothers Nate and Jake. She now had a niece, Lumen. She has lived in Los Angeles and Chicago, but currently lives in Two Harbors.
She has landed roles on network shows and was the lead on an episode of Amazon’s “Broke AF.” She has started an Instagram show about Catalina Island. The Islander reached out to Miss Gold to find out a little more about her.
Anna Gold: My parents are Wes and Jacqui Wells from the Quad-Cities region of Illinois. My dad is a singer. I also have a stepmom named Becki.
My brothers are Nate who has a wonderful daughter named Lumen and Jake who is married to Liz. Nate still lives in the Quad-Cities and Jake and Liz live in Florida.
Catalina Islander: You’ve lived in Los Angeles and Chicago, so what brought you to Catalina?
Gold: What brought me to Catalina is the fact that it is so beautiful here!
Islander: What have you liked most about the island?
Gold: What I like most about the island are the epic views. Everywhere you go, it is beautiful!
Islander: What have you found most rewarding about the pursuit and study of acting?
Gold: What I find most rewarding about the pursuit and study of acting is the ability to tell stories. I like creating characters that make people happy or telling stories that help them learn something.
Islander: Which of your acting projects have been particularly rewarding?
Gold: As far as rewarding projects go, I created my own character “Polly” and some of my scenes for the Amazon Prime Series “Broke AF.”
By far the most rewarding project, however, was an ad for Illinois Policy called “You’re Rich”. It was directed by Remo Wakeford and we were all treated so nicely on set. I love it when everyone can get along and we can tell a great story.
Islander: What are you hoping to build with the Catalina Instagram posts?
Gold: What I am hoping to build with the Catalina Instagram posts is a following. I also hope to teach people about the edible plants on the island. I got the idea because after the pandemic hit, I had this dream that everyone in Two Harbors was alone and we had to survive in the wilderness. I got to thinking, “Could we actually survive on this island?” And the answer is “Yes!” There are an amazing variety of abundant plants like cucumber, wild onions, etc. Mrs. Wrigley (The original) planted vineyards and fruit trees, and those are still around on this island, so!
I have new episodes airing of the show every Thursday morning at 10 a.m., Pacific Time on @anna_goldness at Instagram.com.
The only other thing that I would like to let people know is that if they would like to work with me, they may contact my talent agent, Olga Denysenko at 248-342-4793.
