To the Avalon Fire Department, City of Avalon staff, L.A. County Sheriff Department and Southern California Edison. I know all of them must have been on high alert Tuesday with the high winds coming and the fire danger at “extreme”.
When fires started popping up on the mainland I’m sure it even got more tense. After living and building a home and business in Avalon for over 40 years it seemed after watching the fires on TV it was possible it could all be gone in one day.
We forget sometimes how precious our livelihood is and it makes you want to again say, “Thank you” to those that protect it.
