The Avalon football team won its week two game against Faith Baptist Academy 53-6 last Friday for its second win in a row. Week 1 was all about the running game and week 2 was all about the passing. Avalon’s defense once again held strong and dominated the whole game.

Senior quarterback Jerod Long threw 10/12 passes and had over 140 yards in the air with an additional 3 touchdowns. Jose Silva led the running game averaging over 20 yards per carry and had his own TD. Senior wide receiver Clark Morris led the receiving with an average of 39 yards per catch putting up 1 touchdown. Full back Cesar Ventura and wide receiver Jason Cisneros were also contributors in the run and pass game.
The Lancers defense was a force against Faith Baptist, once again shutting down their run and pass games. The defense totaled more than 50 tackles led by linebacker Long and safety Ventura. Defensive end Harrison Hobbs racked up another sack and had his own score of the night with a safety. Cornerback Cisneros shut down every pass that went his way and had 3 pass deflections while making his way on the board with a 35-yard field goal.
