Ellen Gardner and Carol Ann Burcombe recently helped the Lions pick the winning numbers for the 2020 holiday raffle. The grand prize winner was Lola Di Miele, seen here with her new “It Takes a Village” quilt made by the Catalina Quilters. “The Lion’s want to thank all who participated in the annual drawing this year. As usual, proceeds will go to right back into the community, helping to support those in need,” wrote David Michael Lee in an email.

“The Lion’s also want to specifically thank the Avalon EMT and Fire, City Council, LA County Fire and Sheriff Departments, The Harbor Department, local Food Pantry workers, everyone at the Catalina Island Medical Center, and all essential workers … it definitely does take a village. Thank you for helping make this community vibrant, safe, and healthy,” Lee wrote.
