Chet’s Hardware will open at its new location May 18, beginning what will be a period of transition to the Catalina Avenue store.
Owners Cinde and Mike Cassidy anticipate that completing the move will take a few weeks and ask for the community’s patience and cooperation during the transition.
“We may have longer wait times and likely a time or two where we will have customers who need to visit both locations,” Cinde Cassidy-MacGugan said. “We humbly ask that our community have patience with us at this time.”
As an essential business, Chet’s Hardware has been open in its original location in the Atwater Arcade during the Safer at Home shutdown, although the situation has complicated the company’s plans to move to the new location.
“Our initial plans to move have become quite a bit more challenging,” Cassidy-MacGugan said. “Through it all we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our staff and customers.”
Because of the current shutdown, the store’s staff is requesting that community members only visit the new store to pick up items.
“We’re so excited for everyone to see the new store, unfortunately at this time we have to ask that people only come in if they need to purchase an essential item,” Cassidy-MacGugan said. “As soon as it’s safe, we’re looking forward to a grand opening where we can welcome everyone and celebrate the new location.”
