Centennial fun continues this week

The Avalon Centennial Week Celebration continues today with an old fashioned fish fry. The City of Avalon Centennial Celebration Schedule of Events for the rest of the week as follows:

Friday, June 21, 6-8 p.m.

Fish Fry on Crescent Ave. (between Wrigley Plaza & the Green Pier). Free to the first 500 guests. Arrive early.

Jointly sponsored by the Avalon Lions, Catalina Island Women’s Forum, Avalon Rotary, City of Avalon, & US Foods.

Beer Garden provided by VFW Island Outpost 4682.

Catalina Movies on the Beach, South Beach

Enjoy historic home movies shot by locals followed by the 1967 feature film “Catalina Caper” (shot on and around Catalina)

 

Monday, June 24, 5-10 p.m.

Pack A Picnic Night at Joe Machado Field

Bring your own picnic basket, or purchase BBQ on site, and enjoy family-friendly games, including a one-pitch softball game (signup your team by calling the Recreation Department at 0220 x230), horseshoe tournament, and other traditional picnic games.

 

Tuesday, June 25, 7-10 p.m.

Local Band Night on Wrigley Stage Featuring “The Casual Accidentals” & “Hot Off The Range”

 

Wednesday, June 26, 6-9 p.m.

The City of Avalon’s Official Centennial Awards Presentation and Proclamation on Wrigley Stage followed by Beach BBQ on Crescent Avenue and Fireworks.

BBQ meal served free to the first 500 guests.

Come early.
