Catalina Island Health Foundation recently held its annual Catalinaville event which raises funds to build a new hospital. This Margaritaville-inspired event puts the “fun” in fundraiser in a beautiful island setting complete with an end of the night dance party on the beach!

Catalinaville welcomed 225 colorfully dressed guests to learn more about Catalina Island Health’s future plans and bid on a variety of silent auction items, while enjoying drinks and dinner just steps from the beach. The real fun began with the live auction led by everyone’s favorite emcee and auctioneer, Zack Krone.

The auctions included trips, wine, art, autographed memorabilia, and more. The heart of the evening was demonstrated during the raise the paddle portion. The generosity of those in attendance raised over $700,000 in support of the new hospital.

A highlight of the evening was a special announcement honoring the family of the James Silberrad Brown Foundation and their gift of $1 million in support of the new hospital. The largest gift in the Catalina Island Health Foundation’s history!

“We are very grateful to the Brown family for their commitment to healthcare on Catalina Island,” said Neil Mcready, Chief Development Officer at Catalina Island Health Foundation. “In addition to honoring this amazing gift, we raised much needed funds, created new relationships, and celebrated the many dedicated supporters who are committed to the construction of a new state-of-the-art hospital for our island community.”

Special thanks to Catalinaville sponsors: Sue & Gerald Vickers, Emerald Forest Products, Hutton Family Foundation, Kim & Ray McKewon, L.A. Care, Catalina Business Enterprises, Kathy & Frank Tarquin, Catalina Island Yacht Club, Degler Family Foundation, Kellie & Gary Johnson, and numerous others.
