Bravo’s Landscaping and Straight Up Builders win

Thursday night was the night for standings tie breaking. Bravo’s Landscaping faced off against Coyote Joe’s in game one. Justin Hernandez hit a double for Bravo’s Landscaping in the first inning, but was left stranded at second. In the bottom of the inning Joe Talsky laid out at first to deny Marco Gallegos a hit.

Bravo’s Landscaping got on the board in the second inning when Ryan Adkins hit a double and later scored. Coyote Joe’s tied it up in the fourth when a run scored off a base hit, a double from Robert Reyes and a sacrifice fly.

Bravo’s Landscaping got some offense rolling in the sixth inning. A walk and three base hits brought home four runs. Coyote Joe’s turned a walk into a run in the bottom of the inning. Bravo’s Landscaping opened the seventh inning with a triple from Justin Hernandez, who scored on a sacrifice fly. Two base hits brought home another run. Ron Bevins ended the inning with his unassisted play at first for the final out.

Coyote Joe’s came up for their last at bat. Selina Morones made a great stop at second in time to throw the runner out at first for the second out. Tyler Engel handled the hot shot at third from Caitlin Lopez to record the final out. Final score: Coyote Joe’s 2, Bravo’s Landscaping 7.

For Coyote Joes Caitlin Lopez and Melisa Schafer collected two hits. Robert Reyes contributed one hit.

For Bravo’s Landscaping Ryan Adkins was three for three. Justin Hernandez and Jack Villagomez contributed two hits. Joe Hernandez, Joe Talsky, Stephen Marcy, Selina Morones, Briana Morones and Christy Alegria Flynn had one hit.

Game two was the tie breaker between Straight Up Builders and Catalina Express. Straight Up Builders got on the board in the second inning with two runs off two base hits and a triple from Bart Glass. Catalina Express had a runner on when Frankie Rojo hit a double, but both runners were left stranded on the bags.

Straight Up Builders used three base hits, an error and a double from Chuy Sillas to score four in the third. Catalina Express used two base hits, two walks and an error to score three in the bottom of the inning. Catalina Express added another run in the fourth.

Straight Up Builders added some insurance in the fifth with two more runs off two base hits and a walk. Jose Octavo hit a double in the sixth for Catalina Express, but was left at second. The seventh inning saw both teams go out 1-2-3. The game ended with the score Catalina Express 4, Straight Up Builders 8.

For Catalina Express Jose Octavo collected two hits. With one hit each were Gilbert Hernandez, Gabriel Alvarado, Luis Lazaro, Leo Aguilar, Frankie Rojo, Billy Boyd, Margery Williams and Diana Rios.

For Straight Up Builders Brandon Franco was three for three. Chuy Sillas and Marcus Watts contributed two hits. Alex Herrera, Bart Glass and Angelyna Rivera-Cantrell had one hit.
