Bravo’s Landscaping and Coyote Joe’s win

Hardy softball players braved the cold for a second week to complete the second round of league play. Bravo’s Landscaping took on Straight Up Builders in the first game of the night. Bravo’s Landscaping got off to a fast start, pounding out five base hits and doubles from Robert Reyes and Stephen Marcy to bring home six runs. Straight Up Builders answered back with two runs off two errors, a base hit and a double from Justin Hernandez.

In the second inning, Marcus Watts hit a double and scored on the sacrifice fly for Bravo’s Landscaping. Straight Up Builders kept pace with a run, off two base hits. Bravo’s Landscaping added one more run in the third.

Offense resumed in the fifth inning when Bravo’s landscaping used three base hits, an error, a triple from Joe Hernandez and a three RBI home run from Stephen Marcy to bring home six more runs.

With time expired, Straight Up Builders got their last at bat, but feel short when only two runs scored. The game ended with the score Bravo’s Landscaping 14, Straight Up Builders 5.

For Straight Up Builders, Justin Hernandez was three for three. Selina Morones collected two hits. J.D. Laflin, Brandon Franco, Paul Daniel Romo and Briana Morones contributed one hit.

For Bravo’s Landscaping, Stephanie Martinez was three for three. Joe Hernandez, Tyler Engel and Marcus Watts were two for two. Stephen Marcy also had two hits. Robert Reyes, Felipe Casillas, Alex Romero and Margery Williams collected one hit.

Game two featured Coyote Joe’s and Luau Larry’s. Coyote Joe’s jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning with four base hits, two walks and doubles from Nick Morones, Daniel Paradisi and Chuy Sillas to bring home seven runs. Luau Larry’s scored a run in the bottom of the inning.

Luau Larry’s tied it up in the second inning. Four base hits, a three-run home run from Nestor Cubillas followed by a solo home run from Ryan Hinkley brought in six runs. Luau Larry’s took the lead in third with three runs from a solo home run from Weston Leonhardi, followed by a base hit and back to back doubles from Francisco Bravo and Ben Guzman.

Luau Larry’s added another run in the fourth when Jorge Leon hit a double and later scored. Coyote Joe’s regained the lead in the top of the fifth. Five runs scored off a walk, three base hits and a three-run home run from Nick Morones. Hugh Bevins hit a double, but was left stranded at second.

Coyote Joe’s put the game away in the sixth inning. Five base hits, a double from Elias Romero and a three-run home run from Daniel Paradisi brought home a total of seven runs. With their last at bat, Luau Larrys’ Francisco Bravo opened with a double, but got picked off at second. A base hit followed, but then two more quick outs ended the game with the score Coyote Joe’s 19, Luau Larry’s 11.

For Luau Larry’s Francisco Bravo was three for three. Jorge Leon was two for two. Nestor Cubillas, Ryan Hinkley and Joe Talsky also had two hits. Weston Leonhardi, Ben Guzman, Uriel Castillo, Amanda Younger and Christy Alegria Flynn had one hit.

For Coyote Joe’s, Chuy Sillas, Hugh Bevins and Elias Romero had four hits. Nick Morones, Ron Bevins and Marisa Morones collected three hits. Daniel Paradisi had two hits.
