Avalon planners OK two vacation rental licenses

These licenses not impacted by vacation rental moratorium

The meeting was brief. The video was 22 minutes 17 seconds long.

The Avalon Planning Commission on Sept. 20, approved two transient rental license applications.

While the City Council recently extended a moratorium on issuing transient rental licenses in Avalon, the moratorium allows applications that are already in the pipeline to continue through the approval process. The moratorium was extended by 10-and-a-half months.

The owners of the property at 215 Beacon St. requested a license to rent one of two units.

Julia Nasille, daughter of the applicants, is listed as the property manager. According to staff, the city received two letters opposing the application.

Julia Nasille said her plan was to rent out the unit for longer stays, to interview guests before hand, and to exclude golf carts.

She said guests would be warned that they have a zero noise tolerance policy.

Staff recommended approval.
