Swim and plunge into the new 2022 year with a swim and plunge on New Year’s Day. Meet at the Casino Point and join the Catalina Island Swim Club at 7:30 a.m. for a swim to Descanso Beach or a little beyond.
The water has been crystal clear and the beautiful kelp forests have grown back. Wetsuits are certainly acceptable. And, or, meet at Middle Beach, the beach on the Casino side of the Green pier, at 11:30 a.m. for a quick plunge to be the first of your friends going for an ocean swim in 2022.
