On Saturday, Sept. 17, also the weekend of the Art Festival, at 7:30 a.m. swimmers will start their annual swim to benefit Pancreatic Cancer. Swimmers will gather at Casino Point at 7 a.m. and at 7:30, they will start their 2.2 mile round trip swim to Frog Rock.
Some swimmers will swim a lesser distance and other will “just jump in and get wet.” Distance does not matter. What matters is raising money to fight pancreatic cancer all of which will be given the organization PanCan. (Write checks or donate online to PanCan)
Following the swim there will be a pot luck breakfast and a bit of socializing. The entire event wraps up at about 10:30 a.m. and you can be on your way to enjoy the Art Festival. Wet suits, fins or whatever you feel comfortable swimming with and in are fine.
There is no pre sign up. Just show up with your donation, $30-$40 suggested. Ask friends and relatives to sponsor you.
